*The Lowertown Historic District Study Committee, established in 2002, collected data on the original owners and history of each house in the area roughly bounded by Longshore, Barton and Traver (and across Plymouth to Broadway).  The little booklets were used to help explain to members of City Council (in 2005) about the historic value of the neighborhood.

Although the historic district was never established, all of the original documents were retained by the Chair of the study committee, Sabra Briere.  Members of the study committee included Rosemarion Blake (from Wickfield Court); Fran Wright (from  Hilldale), Tom Stulberg (Traver), Norman Kerr (Broadway), Eunice Burns (Harbal) and Susan Wineberg (N. Ingalls, and the required Historic District Commissioner).  All the booklets and other information were created by the committee.  Susan Wineberg and Fran Wright helped edit; Sabra Briere assembled the research and organized all the presentations, including the graphics in these booklets.

All of the house histories, developed from earlier research and confirmed by deep dives into deeds and land records, include the first identified property owner or resident, the original address (for houses that were moved to the neighborhood) and information about the approximate date of construction and distinguishing information.  All of this information is available - just ask.
